1991 | University Orthopedics Center, with eight employees, is formed on July 1 by founder Douglas E. R. Roeshot, MD and is headquartered at 220 Regent Court in State College. |
1992 | Edwin J. Rogusky, MD joins the practice in September. |
1993 | UOC outgrows 220 Regent Court and builds a new facility at 101 Regent Court. New physical therapy department opens in September. Stanley J. Yoder, MD and Jay S. Cox, MD join the practice in November. UOC is contracted to provide team physician and athletic training services for Penns Valley and Bald Eagle schools. |
1994 | Thomas J. Ellis, DO joins the practice in August |
1996 | UOC is contracted to provide team physician and athletic training services to Woodward Camp. |
1998 | David J. Davies joins UOC as Chief Executive Officer. |
1999 | Occupational Health Services established in February. Connie Edsall is hired as Coordinator of Occupational Health and Business Development. Lewistown office opens on North Dorcas Street in September. Altoona Puritan Park Medical office opens in October. |
2000 | MRI service added in March. David M. Joyner, MD joins the practice in August. |
2001 | UOC Employs approximately 65 employees. UOC is contracted to provide team physician and athletic training services for State College and Mifflin County schools. Major expansion of UOC facility begins and an expanded Physical Therapy Center opens. Construction begins on 8500 square foot, state-of-the-art surgery center. |
2002 | Michael L. Lescanic, MD is appointed UOC Surgery Center Medical Director effective April 1. The Surgery Center opens on April 8. By June, UOC’s employee base has grown to 85. UOC introduces and opens a Clinical Research Department in October. |
2003 | UOC opens its Soft Goods Division in May. Todd B. Cousins, DO and Gregory M. Bailey, DO join the practice in July. William A. Tyndall, MD, PhD joins the practice in August. Bradley A. Barter, DO joins the practice in September. |
2004 | Paul D. Lamb, DC joins UOC in November, adding chiropractics to the UOC list of services.
Altoona office opens its Physical Therapy Department in August. |
2005 | Keith M. Zora, DO joins UOC in January. UOC opens UOC Spine Offices at Windmere Centre in State College. Christopher S. McClellan, DO joins UOC in July. |
2006 | UOC moves to new 13000 square foot office in Altoona. |
2007 | UOC opens new office in Huntingdon |
2008 | Joel A. Torretti, MD joins UOC in March. UOC opens Uni-dose Pharmacy and Nutriceuticals Division in September. |
2009 | UOC implements NextGen EMR Software System. |
2010 | UOC opens Tyrone Clinic in Coordination with Tyrone Hospital. Surgery Center is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Health on April 4. Christopher J. Lincoski joins UOC. Paul R. Sensiba, MD joins UOC. |
2011 | UOC opens new office in Lewistown, PA in April. Andrew J. Marcus, DO joins UOC in July. |
2012 | Advanced Center for Surgery opens in June. UOC and UOCSS employee base exceeds 200. |
2013 | UOC opens Spine Orthopedics Clinic in Dubois UOC opens Concussion Care Clinic in State College in coordination with Dr. Ruben Echemendia. St. Josephs contracts with UOC Athletic Training Department. |
2014 | UOC opens orthopedic clinic in Bedford. Michael Doss, DPM joins UOC. Urgent Orthopedic Care at UOC opens in State College. |
2015 | UOC becomes exclusive orthopedic provider at Dubois Regional Medical Center. Fred K. Khalouf, DO joins UOC in January. Christopher P. Varacallo, DO joins UOC in July. |
2016 | University Orthopedics Center and Blair Orthopedics Associates Merge in January. Employee base increases to 275. |
