Dr. McClellan is a specialist and Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery, and has unique competencies in the area of Hip/Knee Replacement. He also is a specialist in general orthopedics and enjoys knee arthroscopy and injuries of the hip and knee. Recent technological advances have allowed him to do less invasive surgery with outstanding clinical results. Dr. McClellan is also responsible for the creation of the Total Joint Program at University Orthopedics and oversees its change in process as new technologies/information emerge. Dr. McClellan was also responsible for the creation of the Outpatient Hip and Knee Replacement Program at the Advanced Center for Surgery in Altoona. He was the first surgeon in Pennsylvania to perform outpatient hip and knee replacements .
Dr. McClellan is a surgical consultant for multiple companies involved with design and implementation of new surgical designs. He also hosts surgeons from all over the US to watch and learn on techniques for Outpatient hip and knee replacement.
Dr. McClellan is a member of the American Association of Hip/Knee Surgeons, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, the American Osteopathic Association, and the Pennsylvania Orthopedic Society.
Dr. McClellan resides in Altoona, PA with his wife and two children. He enjoys running, basketball, sporting events, and traveling.
