At University Orthopedics Center (UOC), we strive to provide you with the best. This includes providing you with the opportunity to take control of your health and wellness. It is our hope that by coming to us with your orthopedic needs we can give you the tools necessary to be healthy and happy following your time with us.

The Program

We are offering patients of UOC the option of joining our Healthy Weight and Wellness program located in the our State College office. This program is designed to allow those patients seeking treatment for lower extremity degenerative joint disease , a healthy way to lose weight. Patients will complete nutritional counseling as well as be given the opportunity to join our health and wellness exercise program.

  • Patients who participate in exercise and create healthy eating habits prior to surgical intervention, tend to do better post surgery.
  • Patients with a BMI higher than 40 can use these programs to potentially lose weight and get the surgery they need.
