Dr. Joshua Port Appointed As Representative to AAOS Board of Councilors

Altoona, PA February 26, 2016 – University Orthopedics Center (UOC) is proud to announce that Joshua Port, M.D., has been appointed by the Pennsylvania Orthopaedic Society (POS) Board of Directors to serve as a representative to the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) Board of Councilors. He has long been an active member of POS, serving on the Board of Directors on various committees and as President in 2006. “Given Dr. Port’s leadership and experience as an advocate for patients and the orthopaedic profession, POS looks forward to his tenure as a member of the Board of Councilors (BOC)”.

UOC’s Dr. Budny and Dr. Ley Attend ACFAS Annual Scientific Seminar

Altoona, PA February 15th – Adam M. Budny, DPM, FACFAS and Alexis Ley, DPM with University Orthopedics Center (UOC) attended the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS) Annual Scientific Seminar in Austin, TX. The seminar included highly-focused courses featuring the best and brightest in the podiatry profession, award-winning research papers and case studies, hands-on workshops, state-of-the-art technology, and practical topics for foot and ankle surgeons. The seminar included over 1400 participants who looked to expand their surgical expertise and circle of professional relationships.

Joshua Port, M.D., Re-Certified in Orthopedic Sports Medicine

University Orthopedics Center (UOC) is proud to announce that Joshua Port, M.D., has completed his combined Orthopedic and Sports Medicine re-certification and is now certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery through 2026. Dr. Port has maintained a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine since 2009 and is the only orthopedist in the area with this distinction. Board Certification is based on a presentation of cases, continuing education with a component of scored assessments, and a certifying exam.

UOC Receives Areas First Accreditation for Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship Program - Welcomes Initial Fellow in Summer of 2016

University Orthopedics Center (UOC) is pleased to announce that Almaan M. El-Attrache, M.D. has matched for the initial primary care sports medicine fellowship program offered by the practice. UOC’s affiliation as Head Team Physicians for Altoona Curve Professional Baseball, St Francis University, Mount Aloysius, Penn State University-Altoona, Juniata College, and many local high schools, will provide Dr. El-Attrache educational opportunities through event coverage at the professional, intercollegiate, and interscholastic levels of all sports, as well as office based learning.
