|
Altoona, PA (November 4, 1009)- University Orthopedics Center (UOC) and Tyrone Hospital have announced plans for an orthopedic clinic to be located at Tyrone Hospital. The Orthopedic Clinic’s target opening date is December 2nd.
Services will be provided by Bradley Barter, D.O., Board Certified orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Barter will provide general orthopedic care as well as specialized foot and ankle care. His training and experience include unique competencies in treatment of foot, ankle, knee, hand, trauma and pediatrics.
"I look forward to providing quality orthopedic care to the people of Northern Blair County”, said Dr. Barter. “UOC’s association with Tyrone Hospital and their outstanding allied professional staff is a terrific fit. This affiliation provides the citizens of this area with easy access for orthopedic care.”
The UOC Orthopedic Clinic will be conveniently located on Tyrone Hospital’s first floor and will give area residents access to office appointments and surgical care close to home. Dr. Barter will be in the clinic on Wednesdays and will allocate his time for both office hours and surgery on those days.
Stephen Gildea, CEO at Tyrone Hospital said UOC has a stellar reputation for providing high quality orthopedic care and Tyrone Hospital is excited to be expanding their relationship with UOC. “Mr. Gildea said the UOC Orthopedic Clinic at Tyrone Hospital will be a huge plus for people in Northern Blair County and communities in neighboring counties. “There has not been an orthopedic physician practice located in the Tyrone area for a number of years.”
Mr. Gildea said there is a significant need for orthopedic care over the course of a person’s lifetime from the broken bones and injuries associated with children at play, sports and work related injuries, and the orthopedic needs of the elderly. “Approximately twenty-five percent of the people who seek care in Tyrone’s emergency department do so because of an orthopedic related injury or illness.”
The UOC Orthopedic Clinic will accept most insurances. Appointments can now be scheduled by calling (814) 684-6301. |
