Physical Therapist
|

We are looking for a full-time energetic, enthusiastic, outgoing, career-minded Physical Therapist who has leadership qualities for our well-established orthopedic practice. We currently have positions available at both State College and Altoona locations. A Physical Therapist/ATC would be preferred but not mandatory.
About the Job
Responsible for performing physical therapy evaluations, treatments and related services as established by state law. The physical therapists successful work performance requires initiative in supervisory skills as well as the ability to interpret and implement changes to resolve a variety of problems.
Requirements
Clinical
- Prefer a therapist with ability to perform a variety of manual techniques
- Acquires all pertinent background information relating to the patient and the referral diagnosis.
- Plans and carries out a physical therapy evaluation which is valid, reliable, and appropriate to the patient.
- Establishes a physical therapy diagnosis along with short and long term goals for the patient.
- Plans and implements a comprehensive physical therapy program in response to changing patient's needs.
- Records all pertinent patient information relating to the evaluation and treatment program.
- Instruct patients in home exercise programs and provide written instructions as appropriate.
- Assign treatment procedures and supervise the progress of the patients being treated by physical therapist assistants.
- Communicate verbally and in writing with physicians regarding a patient’s course of treatment and progress.
- Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment, provide direction and information to patients, family members and co-workers.
- Maintain a high standard of professional accountability with respect to safety, efficiency, effectiveness, the APTA Code of Ethics, and legal issues.
- Establish a great work environment and promote excellence within the staff and provides excellent patient and physician customer service.
- Assists with maintaining services in accordance with UOC written policies and procedures.
- Maintain compliance with all third party payer policies.
- Maintain own professional growth by attending workshops, conferences and reading professional journals.
- Complies with standards related to confidentiality of patient and organizational information (HIPAA Regulations)
- Assist in other clinic functions as requested by the Ancillary Services Manager.
- Participate in peer review of documentation and chart auditing.
Job Specifications
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program with a Bachelor's degree and/or higher level.
- Licensed or licensed eligible by the state of Pennsylvania.
- Ability to relate to and work well with patients, peers and supervisors

- Previous physical therapy experience in an outpatient setting is preferred.

The Patient Accounts Representative performs a variety of complex clerical and accounting functions for patient billing, including verification of invoice information, maintenance of third party billing records, and resolution of a variety of problems. Follows up on submitted claims and patient billing; resubmits claims or resolves problems. Manages cash items and accounts receivable posting. Responsibilities also include verification of benefits for physical therapy appointments and to assist with obtaining physical therapy authorizations. Candidates must have prior billing experience, excellent computer skills and good communication skills.
